SAUNA, WINTER SWIMMING AND HOT TUBS – PERFECT PAMPERING
Lake Näsijärvi, the Tahlo waters, sauna and silence. What could be better? In Tahlo, just a 40 minute drive from Tampere, you can swim all year round, relax on the sauna benches built from local wood, enjoy the sunset on a large terrace or on the pier, relax in a hot tub (palju) and cook delicious meals by a campfire.
We currently rent two wood-heated, private saunas on the shore of Lake Näsijärvi in Tahlo. Winter / ice swimming is possible at Tahlo Underhill lakeside sauna all winter. Underhill has a design-decorated sauna cabin with electricity and running water.
In the sauna on wheels, you can enjoy an electricity-free nature experience on Tahlo’s glamping area.
The saunas are heated by yourselves, and a hot tub (palju) is available upon additional order. Check out our sauna options and book your Finnish sauna experience.
TAHLO UNDERHILL LAKESIDE SAUNA
In Underhill there is winter swimming availability all winter! This sauna is your choice when you wish to go ice dipping. From the steady steps of the Underhill pier you can go dowm to icy cold water of lake Näsijärvi and enjoy the avanto experience.
Sauna and cabin total 20 m2 have a running water, kitchenette with basic equipment, refrigerator, freezer, microwave, tea and coffee maker. Outside there is a campfire site, outhouse, pier, beach volleyball court and child-friendly sandy beach.
A hot tub (palju), towels, rowing boats, sauna warmed up and accommodation for two for a separate price.
We rent the Tahlo Underhill lakeside sauna mainly in connection with the Hillhouse holiday villa. In the off-season and on weekdays, the sauna can also be rented separately! Check availability, see more pictures and book a sauna!
SAUNA ON WHEELS
Experience the löyly of the sauna wagon in a very private location in the heart of a Finnish nature. Take a sauna, relax and outdoors in Tahlo glamping also during autumn and spring!
This is probably one of the oldest sauna wagons in Finland! Hand made 2009 by Eero Tuominen, constructor of Tahlo family. Experience the silence of the nature in a cosy sauna wagon total 10 m2, including 4m2 sauna.
The sauna is located near Tahlo’s shelter (laavu) and campfire site in a private location on the shore of Lake Näsijärvi. From the pier, you can swim in the lake and in the hot tub you can enjoy Finnish nature. Basic cooking equipment for campfire cooking: Muurikka pan, soot pan and sausage sticks, as well as a camping stove with gas are provided.
Book for an evening or for the night! Sauna wagon accommodates comfortably two people from May to September and serves in sauna use around the year.
ICE SWIMMING
Avanto is open throughout the winter in Tahlo and is part of Underhill’s sauna evening reservation. Let the refreshing water pamper your blood circulation and book your ice swimming evening at Tahlo.

HOT TUB (PALJU)
Hot tub (palju) is like a jacuzzi – but more Finnish and more traditional way. We have several hot tubs, all heated with wood-heated fireplaces. Experience the löyly of the sauna wagon in a very private location in the heart of a Finnish nature. Take a sauna, relax and outdoors in Tahlo glamping also during autumn and spring!
You can add hot tub (palju) to your reservation immediately when you book the sauna shift or closer to your arrival.
You can order the pallu either pre-heated or you can heat the pallu yourself. In winter, heating takes about 4-5 hours, in summer 2 hours. We fill the hot tub with lake water and take care of emptying and washing the tank after you leave.
A large hot tub wagon is also available at all sauna locations. So it is almost always possible to book two hot tubs for the evening. This is a perfect choice if you’re hosting a big group of sauna and bathing lovers.
