SAUNA, ICE SWIMMING AND HOT TUBS – PERFECT PAMPERING
Lake Näsijärvi, pristine Tahlo waters, a authentic Finnish sauna, and pure silence. What more could you need to unwind? Located just 40 minutes from Tampere, Tahlo offers the ultimate lakeside escape. Here, you can enjoy year-round swimming and ice swimming, relax in a wood-heated sauna built from local timber, admire the sunset from the spacious terrace or pier, unwind in a warm outdoor hot tub (palju), and cook delicious meals over an open campfire.
We rent two private, wood-heated lakeside saunas on the shores of Lake Näsijärvi. At Tahlo Underhill beach sauna, an ice swimming hole (avanto) is maintained throughout the winter, and the stylishly decorated sauna lounge features electricity and running water. For a unique off-grid nature experience, our Glamping wagon sauna offers rustic relaxation surrounded by nature.
Saunas are self-heated by guests for an authentic experience, and a wood-fired hot tub (palju) is available as an add-on service. Explore our private sauna options and book your traditional Finnish sauna experience online!
TAHLO Underhill lakeside sauna
In Underhill there is winter swimming availability all winter! This sauna is your choice when you wish to go ice dipping. From the steady steps of the Underhill pier you can go dowm to icy cold water of lake Näsijärvi and enjoy the avanto experience.
Sauna and cabin total 20 m2 have a running water, kitchenette with basic equipment, refrigerator, freezer, microwave, tea and coffee maker. Outside there is a campfire site, outhouse, pier, beach volleyball court and child-friendly sandy beach.
A hot tub (palju), towels, rowing boats, sauna warmed up and accommodation for two for a additional price.
We rent the Tahlo Underhill lakeside sauna mainly in connection with the Hillhouse holiday villa. In the off-season and on weekdays, the sauna can also be rented separately! Check availability, see more photos and book sauna!
SAUNA ON WHEELS
Experience the authentic löyly of our sauna wagon nestled in the pine forest. Handcrafted in 2009 from local timber by master builder Eero Tuominen of the Tahlo family, this unique, cozy, and charming 10 m² mobile building with a 4 m² sauna room is now available for private sauna sessions!
The sauna is situated near Tahlo’s lean-to shelter (laavu) and campfire site in a secluded lakeside location on the shores of Lake Näsijärvi. Dip into the lake straight from the pier and unwind without rush in the outdoor hot tub (palju) surrounded by nature. Essential campfire cooking equipment is provided: a Muurikka pan, soot kettle, sausage sticks, and a camping gas stove.
We also arrange experiences and local food catering for groups—ask us for more details!

ICE SWIMMING
The ice swimming hole (avanto) is open throughout the winter at Tahlo and is included in the Underhill beach sauna evening reservation. Let the refreshing water boost your circulation and book your ultimate winter swimming experience at Tahlo.

HOT TUB (PALJU)
A hot tub (palju) is like a jacuzzi—but in a truly traditional Finnish way. We have several wood-fired hot tubs available at Tahlo.
You can add a hot tub (palju) to your reservation right away when booking your sauna session or closer to your arrival.
You can order the hot tub pre-heated or heat it yourself. Heating takes approximately 2 hours in the summer and 4–5 hours in the winter. We fill the hot tub with clean lake water and handle all the emptying and washing after your stay.
A large mobile hot tub wagon is also available at all our sauna locations, allowing you to book two hot tubs for the same evening. This is the perfect option for larger groups of sauna and bathing enthusiasts!
